Ha ha! The loneliest loader on the planet! Oh wait, we're in Europe, or rather, I'm in Europe so I should have written "The loneliest clapper/loader on the planet." Ha! "Clapper/loader"! So accurate and so dumb which once again illustrates the point that just because you're the smartest guy in the bar doesn't mean you should open your mouth. What? Don't ask me, this blog entry has been taken over by a mullet. A goddamn mullet! If you're still interested, that's Bjorn looking incredibly funny and lonely. I made him spill exposed film all over the floor but he did protest as, "This looks really bad!"
Today was another wonderful "spring" day in Stockholm. People in heavy coats and hats and mufflers sat outside for about three hours while the sun was out and seemed to be pretending they didn't live in the middle of an iceberg. Personally, I was still cold and was wearing my entire cold weather wardrobe but hey, I'm a pussy from LA so what the hell do I know. At least the Swedes looked happy and were all too willing to buy drinks for a dumb-ass Yank. Too bad I was working. Inside. Next to a pool. So much water and not a moment to swim but at least we had some to drink. Again I write, What?
Just to let all two people who might actually have read this far I must admit this: today was annoying enough that Jonathan and I went and got us a couple of beers after work. Mind you, the beers here are a little bit more, well actually quite a bit more, stronger than the beers back in Lost Angeles. In short, we got a little drunk but it's OK, we went and got hot dogs wrapped in lavash and mashed potatoes. This is what you do in Stockholm, son! We hardcore up in this lovely city that I love and no, we do not have gangs no matter what the cops say. Gangs are not Swedish! We do not have them! Stop asking!
Drinking with an Englishman always seems to result in a bar fight, tonight was no different. If you're curious for the whole story find me at the Lodge when I get back and I'll tell you no lies but I'm too tired to go over the whole thing right now. Suffice it to say, we won, it wasn't my fault (no really, for once I had nothing to do with it), and the two guys were total jerks. I think they were the type of guys who have money and think it makes them invincible but have never been hit in the face in a real bar fight. I dunno, when someone talks that much shit and goes down that easily you really have to wonder. Not that I would know.
ANYWAY, I have an early call and I've probably written too much so I'm going to go sleep. I hope I dream about surfing again, I dreamt I was surfing the other night and woke up so very, very happy. No really, I awoke and popped out of bed and almost, ALMOST, opened the windows so I could sing at my neighbors. Good Lord I need to get outta here and into my beloved Pacific.
