Finally had a nice meal but it was in the funniest place: fake English pub. It was sort of on the level of the many bullshit English pubs in Santa Monica and Venice. You know, kitschy wall art that's looks like it was boosted off a movie set, a smattering of real English beers, and plenty of low-brow ex-pats. What's consistently missing in these places is the cheery familiarity of a real pub and they never get the food right. A real English pub is a thing of sublime beauty and defines, and in turn is defined by, the neighborhood you find it in. The Swedish version was pretty goofy and the food was all wrong but I was tired and hungry and for some reason spaghetti and meatballs seemed like a good idea. It was.
In conclusion, let me just say that I can't wait for this goofy movie to start because this blog is going to be a series of food reviews, mostly bad.

good thing you're in shape! glad you're feeling better!
Why did you go out there again??? Oh yeah, the once in a lifetime opportunity to live and work in semi-socialist europe.
